In the 1850s, Captain Tyler owned the house. One of the few brick buildings in the village, this residence is an excellent example of Federal style with elegant Greek Revival elements. The columned portico doorways are outlined by narrow sidelights and transom and dentils under the eaves. Note the balance achieved by the matching entries facing the two corner streets.
